Chess Club (Y2-7)

Chess is more than just a game—it is a battle of ideas, strategy, and imagination. Every move is a decision, every decision has consequences, and every game is a new challenge. Through chess, students develop powerful thinking skills such as problem-solving, logical reasoning, creativity, concentration, memory, and the ability to plan ahead. They learn to analyse situations, make confident decisions, and adapt their strategies while building patience, resilience, and self-confidence.

Students are grouped according to their age and experience level, ensuring that each player is appropriately challenged and supported. Whether discovering chess for the first time or looking to sharpen their competitive skills, students will explore the game's foundations, tactical combinations, and strategic thinking. Sessions combine engaging instruction with practical play, preparing students to take part in tournaments and friendly matches, either as members of the school team or as individual players. The club is led by School Chess Instructors approved by the International Chess Federation (FIDE).
